I'm an undergraduate student at Northwestern University working on a project at the intersection of AI, music, and theatre. I am building a model that will translate text into music through a sentiment analysis of the text and an attempt to recreate those same sentiments through musical parameters. This model will be used to develop music ("dialogue") for a player piano in an upcoming stage play, to create a concrete idea of how music is perceived and interpreted by computers. I'm currently using Meta's Audiocraft repository for my final step of generating the music file, however this model uses large amounts of memory and needs a powerful GPU. As a student, I don't have access to such funds regularly to afford this, and a community GPU grant would generously allow me to continue my venture in AI at a time when the technology is still fresh and taking the world by storm.
